Why I'm paying attention this week

I've known Barry Plaskow for years.

We've done business together. My mother and I have even spent time with him in Israel.

And while Barry and I don't agree on everything, I will tell you this:

He's one of the sharpest marketers I know.

I've made money working with him over the years, and when he tells me he's found something worth looking at, I pay attention.

He got my attention with this one.

The basic idea is something I've been thinking about a lot lately:

What's your network actually worth?

If you've been an entrepreneur, speaker, author or consultant for any length of time, you probably know a lot of business owners.

And some of them need services you don't provide.

Normally, we make an introduction.

"Meet Fred. Fred, meet Susan. You two should talk."

Nice thing to do.

But what if creating the right connection could become an actual revenue stream — without you having to create another product, deliver another service or take on another client?

That's the model Barry and the Growbotik team are showing us Thursday.

They're talking about high-value agency engagements and potentially very substantial referral commissions, with their backend handling the sales and delivery.

Those are their claims, not my guarantee.

But the economics are interesting enough that I'm going to be there.
