UP FRONT:

The Great Almond Conspiracy: Why Price Doesn’t Matter, and How You Can Avoid Throwing Money Away…

Here’s a quiz for you…

Look at the two bags of ground almonds below (300 grams Almond Flour and 400 grams Almond Meal).

They may have slightly different names, but they’re the same—they’re almond powder—100% ground almonds.

One of them costs $5.99.

The other goes for $7.99

Match the prices with the appropriate bag…

Which is $5.99 and Which is $7.99?

Go ahead…I’ll wait for you…

OK—What did you come up with?

Logically, the 300 gram bag should cost less. And if that was your conclusion, you would be 100% WRONG.

The 300 gram bag of the exact same stuff (Almonds) costs 25% more than the 400 gram bag…that’s 25% more for 25% less product!

This bag costs nearly 78% more!

This bag costs 78% less per kilo

Crazy, huh?

It’s been said for ages that people buy with emotion and they justify those purchases with logic.

That’s true at nearly every level of purchase (with potential exceptions to some technical purchases where specifications might supersede emotions).

One of the classic examples is that of the headache reliever, Excedrin, which has multiple versions of its pills available in different packaging at different price points for different types of buyers.

Need a migraine solution? Excedrin has it. Need something that won’t keep you up at night? Get ExcedrinPM is your solution. Excedrin’s different products have also captured more space on retailers’ shelves, too.

Something for every perceived need ;)

They’ve crafted their brand messages to fit specific segments of the market, so that everyone can find the pain reliever that they feel is best suited to them.

And nearly all don’t realize that the active ingredient in all those bottles is exactly the same!

So what’s the lesson here?

People don’t always buy due to price. They buy for many reasons.

Perhaps the perception that Almond Flour is more valuable than Almond Meal. Perhaps the “new” label generated more sales.

Regardless, people are buying the stuff, and if they’re buying that Almond Flour, they’re throwing money away.

So…when you’re buying, shop around. You may be shocked, as I was, at how you can get ripped off (ie “economy size” isn’t necessarily a savings).

Next, when YOU are the seller, consider pricing your products based on VALUE…not on a comparison to others.

Remember, if you’re basing your price on the competition, you’re reducing yourself to a commodity. And that means you’ve lost your edge.

You deserve to be paid for what you’re worth (and beyond!), so get clear about what unique, world-class benefits that only you can provide, and feel confident in knowing that NO-ONE can compete with you.

Yes, that’s a pep talk at no extra charge!

THIS WEEK’S QUIZ:

What toy was originally created as a wallpaper cleaner before becoming a beloved modeling clay for children?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter.

CONSIDER THIS:

How to add 6 figures to your business without Ads, A.I. or Social Media.

Are you frustrated with your lack of control and consistency in your client generation results?

The world has shifted and the once popular social media platforms like Facebook are full of grumblings around the dramatic fall of reach and the rising cost of advertising.

Let me ask you…Where on social media can you:

· Be personally introduced to a highly targeted group of people as a guest expert,

· Be asked to speak at least 30 min to them and develop a relationship with them,

· Give them a call to action to connect with you…AND

· Do it all for FREE?

You can’t… yet that is exactly what happens when you are a guest on quality podcasts. .

Many people are turning to podcasts for their educational content.

There are 3.5 million active podcasts and 150 million Americans alone listed to at least one podcast per week.

The trouble is that most podcast guests spend hours getting on several podcasts per month without ever generating clients or a return on their efforts.

Here are three key points that will help with your results:

Getting on More Podcasts

When talking to a potential host NEVER start with. “I’m passionate about and I can speak on A-B-C”.  This is all about you and will rarely excite the host.

Start with the two or three implementable tips that you will give the audience that will make a specific impact. This provides value and makes the host look good for having you as a guest.

More Leads From Podcasts

‘Be the PRIZE not the professor.’ Don’t fill the podcast with information, trying to educate everyone. Excite the listener about how the content you’re sharing will make a difference and excite them about how you have helped others.

How to Make Easier Sales

Most people struggle with selling, particularly when they are selling themselves i.e. program or service. They try to justify the price of what we call the ‘Box Value’ i.e. what you do. When you collaborate and demonstrate “Agreed Implementable Value” greater than the investment they will be asking to buy.

When you have a clear “podguesting strategy” you will be able to create control and consistency for your client generation.

Since January 2021, author Steve Brossman has generated 6 figures per year from being a podcast guest and has some FREE training coming up this month which will reveal you how you can do the same. he’ll help you map out where your first $20k from this strategy will come from.

TIME FOR ADVENTURE:

The Lights Fantastik. Vivid’s Back!

It’s probably no secret that nearly everyone that visits falls in love with Sydney. It’s got the most amazing Mardi Gras, a thriving arts community (with incredible theatre), some breathtaking natural beauty, from the famous harbour to the Blue Mountains and more.

And then there’s the opera house, one of the 8 wonders of the world (the new wonders). It’s also a city that’s delightfully inclusive, with Pride flags flying above the streets during Mardi Gras, and right now it’s Vivid Time!

We’re sharing this with you because we believe that our careers and business should have a huge fun and adventure factor. If you’re not having fun, you’re just not doing it right!

Sydney’s Vivid Festival isn’t just another event—it’s an unforgettable experience that we consider a must-see.

It takes 11 months to create this…

It all began in 2009.

One of the original creators of the event, Anthony Bastic, was inspired to light up the Sydney Opera House after seeing illuminated buildings in London in 2007.

It’s grown to now over 3.48 million attendees last year, a 30% increase over the previous year. Yes, it’s a big deal!

That’s got to be gratifying for the artists. For instance, it takes 11 months to plan and create the artwork projected onto the Sydney Opera House sails, so it’s got to feel good to know their work is appreciated.

Every night the average daily attendance is over 151,000 (definitely avoid weekends and go out exploring on a weeknight!).

Why Vivid is Perfect for Entrepreneurs & Business Owners

Networking and Inspiration

As a business owner, you’re always looking for inspiration and new connections. Vivid offers 38 Vivid Ideas events across 149 sessions with 218 speakers. From creative workshops to insightful talks, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to network with like-minded individuals and industry leaders. Imagine discussing your next big idea with fellow innovators against the backdrop of Sydney’s breathtaking light installations.

Cultural Immersion

Vivid isn’t just about lights—it’s a cultural immersion. The festival features more than 100 artists from 14 countries and 57 installations.

The signature experience is the Sydney Opera House Lighting of the Sails, showcasing the work of esteemed Australian artist John Olsen AO OBE.

If you’re into music, last year, there were 67 different Vivid Music events across 121 sessions at 14 venues, ensuring a musical genre for every taste.

Monday night was one of my favorite nights—if you’re into piano bars, you’d fall in love with Club Broadway, the new Aussie & New Zealand “musical-theatre nightclub”, where our favorite showtunes are curated on a pumping club system, along with live performances every 15 minutes. It was 3 hours of just super duper fun with about 1,000 people that became instant friends.

Now THAT is the way to hold a stage!

Green lights helped us all Wickedly Defy Gravity…

Explore and Unwind

This year, Sydney boasts the longest-ever free Vivid Light Walk, stretching 8.5 kilometers from Circular Quay to Central Station. You’ll probably want to do it over a few nights, especially if you’ll be doing some of the ticketed events such as the magical night at the Botanical Garden (if you’re a romantic, you’ll swoon over it!).

Video? You Want Video??

We planned to release a short video for you of some of the highlights, but it’s not ready yet. We’ll also be posting our complete video of the famous drone show (the largest in the southern hemisphere), so look for an email in the next couple of days with your special link to our new YouTube channel.

The Power of Investing (and How it Can Create Generational Wealth)

In previous weeks we discussed the concept of looking at your business as an investment.

Today, let’s consider investments as a completely different element.

Consider being an investor in other areas so that you can diversify and create a steady stream of cashflow to support your lifestyle.

In other words, you need MULTIPLE streams of income to protect your financial position.

For instance, if you want to help people AND generate some significant cash, you might want to check out this presentation I did with Jason Palliser recently.

He’s got a revenue-generating system that is pretty remarkable. In fact, if you’re struggling with a business that simply isn’t going anywhere, this system could be more than investment—it could relieve the pain on a permanent basis!

We created the presentation for my PrideNomad community, but it applies to everyone who wants to create a location-free revenue stream.

I’ve been a real estate investor (and have trained real estate investors for over 3 decades) and I believe that there’s no better way (aside from your own businesss) to generate generational wealth than real estate.

Watch the presentation and see if you agree!
